Lisa Ferraro, ERYT200 Yoga Instructor, Kirtan and Sound Yogini
Do not worry if our harp breaks, thousands more will appear.
We have fallen in the arms of
love where all is music.
If all of the harps in the
world were burned down,
inside the heart there will be hidden music playing.
Growing up in NJ, Lisa was surrounded by great music that her parents' played in their home, from classical to folk to bluegrass. It is then she had her first experience with the healing power of music where her thoughts ceased even for a few minutes while listening. A love of singing and music developed.
Lisa went on to graduate from Westminster Choir College studying voice, music and theater. Lisa picked up a copy of a Bhagavad Gita for Daily Living by Ekhnath Easwaran off of her parents coffee table and her yogic journey began. Lisa became so enamored with the practices of yoga she decided to get certified. Laughing Lotus Yoga Center became her place of training, devotion and play, headed by Dana Flynn and Jasmine Tarkeshi and is honored to share with others this joyful, soul-lifting yoga that she loves to practice. She received her certification to teach Pre-Natal students at Laughing Lotus and continued with a Kids Yoga Certification through Yoga Haven.
Most recently, Lisa completed a three year course with Russill Paul in his Yogic Mystery School where she studied Sanskrit, Nada Yoga and Mantra which combined her two loves: yoga and music.
Lisa offers workshops on the power of sound and yoga and shares kirtan, the practice of call and response chanting with her band, Sonic Bliss Kirtan. They are gearing up to play at Bhakti Fest in Joshua Tree, CA for their second year! Lisa lives in Rahway, NJ with her husband, Dave and her magical daughter, Anya.
