Yoga Studio Trainings & Workshops

This is an overview of trainings that I offer for YTT as well as stand alone workshops. I have been teaching Sanskrit for yoga teacher trainings for over a decade and teaching yoga for 20 years. I am constantly training and growing and share from my own practice.

Sanskrit for Spritual Practice 200 Hr.

Learn Sanskrit from it's vibrational building blocks - the letters! We will experience the points of vibration in our palate and our bodies as you learn to chant and write the Sanskrit vowels and consonants. Bring your favorite pen and a journal to experience likhita japa as we draw and sound the letters. This learning will culminate in a unique Tantric practice to stimulate the throat chakra. With this foundation, embody the āsana names & chant chant chant!

Sounding the Sutras 200 Hr.

Experience classical yoga philosophy from the meaning and the sounds of the yoga sutras! Let's chant and meditate on the most important aphorisms of Pada 1 as well as Pada 2. Pada 3 & 4 will also be incorporated to go on a journey with this now seminal text of yoga. How can you use this in your yoga practice and how can you share these teachings with your students to expand their practice?

Lakṣmī, Mantras & Abundance

We will be aligning with the symbol of Lakshmi who is the embodiment of abundance and beauty. The word “lak” means 100,000 which is an ancient number representing tremendous quantity. But we will also be focusing on the quality of abundance through the quality of our consciousness. The workshop will consist of learning specific Lakṣmī mantras, as well as likhita japa(mantra writing), ritual, restorative yoga and journaling. Come explore what is blocking your path and take steps forward into fullness.

Speak Up, Stand Up with Mantra!

Are you comfortable speaking up for your ideals? Is it hard to find the right words? Do you embrace the sound of your own voice? In this workshop, you will embody your own sound! Experience the points of vibration in our palate and your body as you learn to chant and write the Sanskrit vowels and consonants. Bring your favorite pen and a journal to experience likhita japa as we draw and sound the letters. This learning will culminate in a unique Tantric practice to stimulate the throat chakra combined with the learning of the oldest mantra to Saraswati, the Goddess of speech.

Sanskrit for Spiritual Practice 300 Hr.

We build on the foundation of Level 1 by adding the consonents to the writing practice called likhita japa which leads to the Tantrik practice called Cakra Viśeşa Upāsāna stimulating all of the chakras. Advanced mantras get added into the mix that leads to joining our newfound knowledge into a simple but powerful ritual.

The Ritual of Sürya Namaskāra 300 Hr.

Embody the ritual movements of the sun salutation, a full body prayer to the power of the sun. You will get adaptations for your body to make it accessible. Coinciding with the movements, we will be learning simple yet powerful seed syllable mantras from the Tantric tradition as well as ancient mantras from the Vedic tradition. These will blend with our devotion to create a ritual we can offer in the morning as well as the evening to connect us back to our inner light, our source, our Truth.

Nāda Yoga 300 Hr.

Come join me in practices originating from 500 BC!! The most ancient nada or sound yoga practices involve listening meditations to outer sounds leading you to the inner sound. In this workshop, you will listen, breathe, intone, move your body and sing! Journey with yogic sound through the most ancient practices to the most modern. Sound can put you in touch with all things as all things vibrate and sound is vibration. Finally, you are led through a heart melting śavāsana to singing bowls and eventually to silence, the space beyond sound.

Russill Paul, Teacher, Musician, Author of The Yoga of Sound

Lisa Ferraro embodies the best of multiple yogic disciplines: Hatha Yoga, Mantra and Ecstatic Devotional Singing. She is one of the few people here in the States that understands the full scope of mantra and sacred sound and knows how to embody it effectively in both her life and her teaching. If I lived nearby, she would be my go-to person to immerse myself in the healing power of sound and yoga.
